Persona Worksheet: How to Develop Profiles for the People Your Church Wants to Engage

It’s no secret that everyone who goes to your church isn’t the same in every way—some people will be older, some younger, some single, some married, some with kids, some without. Every church has a congregation that is diverse in life stages—but did you know that your community is the same way? A single college kid isn’t going to care about what your children’s ministry is doing, just like a new family with two toddlers probably won’t care about your late night ministry at the local coffee shop.

In the business world, we divide the people we’re talking to into segments called personas so we can make sure we do our best to talk about things people want to hear about. The little known secret? Churches that are effectively reaching their communities do the same thing—they segment the people they’re trying to reach into profiles known as personas, and then build their outreach around connecting with those people.

We’ve created this worksheet to walk you through the process of researching and creating personas for the people your church wants to engage—steps like:

  • Who your church is already attracting (and why)
  • How to conduct research into what your personas actually are
  • How to build a social media strategy around your personas

Personas aren’t rocket science—they’re simple best practices to growing and defining your outreach this year. Get your free copy of Persona Worksheet: How to Develop Profiles for the People Your Church Wants to Engage today.

We have so many Millennials who come to Zoe church, and they don't have checkbooks. About 85% to 90% of our church gives digitally, so you’ve got to make it easy for people to give. Pushpay has allowed us to do that.
